I'm a YC founder and former Uber ML engineer, who just finished his first company.

Currently, I'm an intern at a stealth startup. I'm also building a collective to help ex-YC founders transition into hardtech via internships.

🏗️ Building an AI-construction plans reader

At Downtobid, I work on the AI that powers our AI-construction plans reader. We did not get this product right on the first try. In fact, we made many attempts tweaking the AI and product output. Every 2-3 months, I would update the /estimator community on reddit. Our vision We’re building the world’s first AI-powered construction spreadsheet. GCs will be able to upload their plans and AI will instantly perform the following actions....

🏗️ Raising $4.5m to modernize preconstruction

Over the course of 5 years building BasisBoard and Downtobid, we raised $4.5m of venture capital over 3 rounds. Our business did not achieve the venture outcome that we initially hoped for. That said, we managed to get the business to profitability and is now serving over 100+ customers in construction. The business continues to grow its customer-base and ARR, but is no longer on the VC-track. As founders, we continue to provide part-time support on the business....

🧠 Alzheimer's clinical trials w/ DNA sequencing

In 2017, I founded a company called Ikigai. The idea was to sequence a person’s DNA & RNA and match them with the best clinical trial for Alzheimer’s disease. With enough sequencing data, we would develop a drug that would cure Alzheimer’s. After 2 years of working on it, the company failed and it was one of the most painful experiences of my life. If you’ve ever been a startup founder that worked relentlessly on a startup with nearly 0 traction, you’ll know the pain....

🤖 Making self-driving cars human-like at Uber

From 2016 - 2019, I was a machine learning engineer at Uber ATG (Advanced Technologies Group), Uber’s R&D division for self-driving cars.
